Speaking at the weekly news conference in Islamabad Thursday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Nafees Zakaria responded to the summoning of the Pakistani envoy in India and the confession by an alleged Pakistani national.
India accuses Pakistan of arming and training Kashmiri rebels who have been fighting for independence or for a merger with Pakistan since 1989.
“Our Foreign Secretary would formally be writing to his counterpart in this regard”, Aziz said as he briefed the media about the Pakistan Envoys Conference held from August 1-3 to deliberate on the major foreign policy challenges facing Pakistan and make recommendations. They may be right: in Indian Kashmir the talk is usually of azadi-freedom-not of joining Pakistan.
On Indian involvement in subversive activities in Pakistan, Aziz said that arrested RAW agent Kulbhushan Yadev was being investigated as he was not alone and was working through a network.
Later addressing the media about the outcome of the meeting, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, “There can not be any compromise on national security and the ongoing talks with political parties and trade groups and social organisations would continue”.
“We will now have to announce and God willing practically cross the bloody line [the disputed Kashmir border] together with the entire population of Azaad Kashmir [Pakistani Kashmir] and mujahideen [holy warriors] as well as refugees [who have come from the Indian side] without fearing any restrictions”, Salauhddin said.
While our relations with China are time-tested, we would also like to maintain cordial relations with the USA, he said and added that we have stayed engaged with the United States and are working on to build convergences and addressing divergences. “Following the premier’s approval, Pakistani and Afghan authorities will be in touch”.
Pakistan requested membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) in May, Aziz said, and its efforts have been successful. “Moreover, we welcome any opportunity to engage bilaterally with interested NSG countries for a detailed presentation on the merits of our application”, he said. “You can not trust an animal. weapons have come through the post many times”, Malik said.
“Pakistan hopes that on the question of membership, established NSG procedures and modalities for discussions would not be bypassed, once again, to rush a country-specific waiver that disregards non-proliferation objectives”, he added. “Instead of blocking India’s membership, Pakistan has proved it is many steps ahead of India in fulfilling the NSG requirements”.
New Delhi, Aug 12 (IANS): Emphasising that investigation plays an important role in ensuring justice to the victim, Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said that police stations must be modernised as the initial investigation takes place there.
He said Pakistan was prepared to consider translating its unilateral moratorium into a bilateral arrangement on non-testing with India. He was talking to President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan in Islamabad today.
While presiding the all-party meet to discuss the prevailing situation in the state of Jammu and kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday reiterated his party’s standing that had the unanimous support of all the political parities that the national security can not be compromised under any circumstances.
Opposition leaders have also stepped up calls for an all-party delegation to visit Kashmir for talks with regional leaders.
We heard about Prime Minister Narendra Modi telling the all-party meet that there can be no compromise on issues and that New Delhi’s stance vis-a-vis Kashmir remains unchanged. Pakistan will have to answer for launching violence in our state.
With 54 protesters killed so far, one of the two factions of the region’s main separatist alliance, the Hurriyat Conference, said there was no sign of the anger abating.
