All-Star Game starters: Greinke on mound for NL, Keuchel for AL
CINCINNATI (AP) – Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Zack Greinke will start for the National League in Tuesday night’s All-Star Game and Houston Astros lefty Dallas Keuchel will be on the mound for the American League. The starters were revealed at a news conference Monday afternoon.

Keuchel, 27, is 11-4 with a 2.23 ERA. He is tied with the Mariners’ Felix Hernandez for the most victories in the AL this season.
“I’m definitely not as seasoned as some of these guys”, Keuchel said, “but I’m excited for the opportunity”.
The two skippers for the All-Star Game announced the hurler they plan on marching out to the hill to start the 86th Midsummer Classic on Tuesday. Stephen Strasberg, James Shields, Cory Kluber – he may get there like Kershaw – Masahiro Tanaka and Chris Sale are just a few pitchers who you may see start an All-Star Game in the next 3-5 years.
The lineup for the National League will open with Pittsburgh center fielder Andrew McCutchen, followed by Cincinnati third baseman Todd Frazier and Washington right fielder Bryce Harper.
Angels first baseman Albert Pujols will bat third for the AL, and Dodgers rookie Joc Pederson will start in left field for the NL and bat eighth.
The Kansas City Royals, who own the AL’s best record at 52-34, boast three All-Star starters in catcher Salvador Perez, shortstop Alcides Escobar and outfielder Lorenzo Cain and lost a fourth with injured Alex Gordon replaced by Baltimore’s Adam Jones.
Whichever league’s all-star team wins the game will claim a home-field advantage for its league champion in the World Series against the other league champion next October.
