All-Star Kevin Garnett quits the National Basketball Association after 21 glorious seasons

Just hours later, though, Towns released the Instagram post above, stating that he and Garnett “talked” and the reigning Rookie of the Year said, “I know what I must do”.

Minnesota Timberwolves power forward Kevin Garnett shakes hands with San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich during the first half December 28 at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. He literally changed our culture. “He follows through on all of them”. Those 2007-08 Celtics will go down as one of the best teams in franchise history, winning 66 games and marching their way to a trouncing of the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals.

Known for his intensity and his meticulous training habits, Garnett is one of five players to log at least 50,000 National Basketball Association game minutes.

Garnett was (is?) listed at 6-foot-11, with a running joke he should have been listed as 6-foot-13. The NBA should designate who the best player is on each team and then they could bring Kevin in and he could teach them how to be the best player and the best leader. Known as the “Big Ticket”, Garnett could handle the ball, shoot it from outside, take an opponent off the dribble and post up as well while being able to guard all five positions. But knee issues limited him to just 85 games over the last two seasons, and after Saunders died from Hodgkin’s lymphoma before last season, he lost the man he trusted most in the organization. That started a trend, until the league ruled that players must spend at least one-year in college. Something small like tipping a ball out of bounds on defense will happen and we’ll clap, but KG is just standing up going insane like someone just got dunked on with the best poster of all time. “Great teammate. It was a dream come true to play next to you”. And while he didn’t mention the word “retirement” directly, he added that he “didn’t expect this to be easy, ‘ right before the video ended with the word “Farewell” in the middle of the screen. I’m so proud he will always be a Celtic champion”. But so far so good. They both teamed up with Paul Pierce to form Boston’s second ‘Big Three,’ a spiritual successor to the original Big Three of Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parish. He is, without question, the greatest Timberwolves player in franchise history and one of the best all-time in the National Basketball Association.
