Allegiant adds nonstop flight to New Orleans airport

The new year-round route will operate twice weekly and expand on the service Allegiant now operates to Punta Gorda Airport (PGD). Pittsburgh is also gaining a seasonal route to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and St. Petersburg will gain a seasonal route to Portsmouth, N.H.

The route to Austin will kick off on February 17 and will cost $44 or more each way if the traveler books before September 2. Flights to Pittsburgh International Airport launch December 16. On Tuesday, low-cost airline Allegiant announced nonstop service to both destinations with one-way tickets starting as low as $44. “Austin travelers have embraced Allegiant’s low-priced, nonstop service to fantastic destinations around the country, and we’re excited to expand that service here in Austin”.

“We are very pleased to welcome the addition of two nonstop flights on Allegiant”, Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau president and CEO Tom Noonan said. Allegiant now flies to 14 cities from CVG, mainly vacation destinations such as Las Vegas, New Orleans and several cities in Florida.
