Democrat Rep. Alan Grayson of Florida used an interesting choice of words when talking about his plans to run for Marco Rubio’s Senate seat in the 2016 election this week. Grayson, who represents a central Florida district, made his announcement on Orlando television station WKMG. It would be a bitter irony if a Republican were to be elected president, only to find a Democratic Senate stymying his agenda before his administration was even begun.

Republican Congressman Ron DeSantis is also running with other GOP candidates expected to get in the race soon.
Grayson’s entry was met with groans from the Democratic establishment, which has already backed Murphy to fill the seat vacated by Sen.
Sobel then went on to add that she is “proud to endorse” Murphy.
Murphy is progressive on social issues such as abortion, immigration and gay marriage, but Grayson – an aggressive campaigner known for equating his 2010 Republican opponent’s religious beliefs to the Taliban – is likely to attack his conservative House votes on things like post-recession Wall Street regulations, Affordable Care Act changes and the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline passage. “This is not simply a technical violation, but rather is a violation that implicates fundamental goals of the ethics rules – to ensure that Members fulfill the public trust inherent in the office by prohibiting Members from profiting by virtue of their office and being improperly influenced”, the organization said in its letter.

Celeste Bush, chair of the Democratic Party of St. Lucie County who supports Murphy, filed a similar request for a Congressional investigation Tuesday.
