Allyson Felix’s dreams of a rare Olympic double came to an abrupt end at the United States track and field trials on Sunday.

On the same track (Hayward Field at the University of Oregon) one year ago, Ash qualified in the 110-meter hurdles for the IAAF (International Association of Athletic Federations) World Championships in Beijing.
In the 200-meter final, Tori Bowie took first, Deajah Stevens finished second while Prandini took the third spot.
Molly Huddle, who won both races, indicated she would forgo competing in the 5K in the Olympics and focus on the 10K.
Felix, who has four gold and two silver medals from three Games, having made her debut in Athens in 2004, was able to temper her disappointment with the knowledge the injury has not prevented her from securing a place at what will be her fourth successive Olympics.
“I feel disappointed. This whole year – that had been what I was working for and so for it to end here it’s disappointing”, the reigning 400m world champion said.
“My coach just pushed me through it”, added McLaughlin. “When I give all I have and I run 22.50 [sic, 22.54], the speed just wasn’t there”.
The race was won by Dalilah Muhammad, who clocked the fastest time of the year, 52.88.

After qualifying for the sprint hurdle final with the sixth-fastest time of the preliminary round at 13.88 (-1.1), Chase placed sixth overall at her national championships when she crossed the finish line in 13.57 (+0.6). Kerron Clement (48.50), Byron Robinson (48.79) and Michael Tinsley (48.82) were Team USA’s Olympic qualifiers in the event. “It´s a big relief. First day I got here and I had a nervous breakdown”, she said.
