Alshon Jeffery: Hamstring Flares Up

Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson would take on more prominent roles if he can’t go against Arizona.

September 13, 2015; Chicago, IL, United States of America ; Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (17) runs after catching a pass during the first quarter against the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field.

On the other side of the equation we have the Bear’s offense up against the Cardinal defense.

It will seem to most that Arizona has the better odds here, but as they say, that’s why they play the game. “He’s coached for a long time, won Super Bowls and done everything you want to do as a coach, except win the ring himself as a head man. To have that opportunity, it’s an wonderful opportunity for him and a huge opportunity for me because I don’t have a ring and that’s what we’re here for”. Cutler had a rather quiet day the last time these two NFC foes squared off in 2012.

No longer as healthy as they appeared a few days ago, the Bears may be without one or two of their marquee players Sunday when they host the Arizona Cardinals.

Even with Jeffery, the Cardinals are formidable challenge. Both players did not play last week versus the Green Bay Packers. Much like the backs in Arizona, Forte can run and receive as well.

Offensively, Palmer will want to build off an impressive performance where he tossed 307 yards and three touchdowns as he averaged 9.6 yards per completion. Those numbers would have been higher has the Bears not been able to control time of possession, keeping Rodgers and the Packers high powered offense off the football field. He is expected to play Sunday. We just all have to step up. Jared Allen has made a living getting to opposing quarterbacks, but is still trying to find himself playing in just his second career game in a 3-4 base defense.

If McPhee is sidelined, the Bears will turn to veterans Willie Young, Lamarr Houston and Sam Acho. The Cardinals are without their starter Andre Ellington at running-back, but I still believe Arizona has the competitive edge against the Bears defense. With Palmer back the team is looking to repeat that success.
