Altherr to make his 2016 debut with Phillies
Manager Pete Mackanin put Altherr in the lineup batting fifth and playing right field Thursday night against the Atlanta Braves. In 13 games at four different levels during the rehab stint, Altherr went 14 for 41 (.341) with two doubles, a homer and seven walks. Jace Peterson’s error allowed another run to score. Philadelphia improved to 3-4 on its current 10-game road trip and their fifth straight win against the Braves.Philadelphia right-hander Aaron Nola (6-9) won for the first time since June 5.

Altherr, 25, suffered a torn tendon sheath in his right wrist on a diving catch attempt in early March during spring training.
