Manager Pete Mackanin put Altherr in the lineup batting fifth and playing right field Thursday night against the Atlanta Braves. In 13 games at four different levels during the rehab stint, Altherr went 14 for 41 (.341) with two doubles, a homer and seven walks. Jace Peterson’s error allowed another run to score. Atlanta rallied for a run in the ninth on Gordon Beckham’s single. Bailey faced three batters and failed to get any of them out, allowing two hits and one walk. The Phillies placed outfielder Peter Bourjos on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder sprain and activated outfielder Aaron Altherr from the 60-day disabled list, the club announced on Thursday.

Altherr, 25, suffered a torn tendon sheath in his right wrist on a diving catch attempt in early March during spring training.
