Amanda Nunes Submits Miesha Tate In First Round At UFC 200

That was true last night, Brock Lesnar’s fight purse was a whopping $2.5 million for his fight with Hunt according to Kevin Iole of Fox Sports.

With the submission triumph over Tate, Nunes improves to a professional record of 13-4 and is now riding high on a 4-fight winning streak. “I’ve been out of this game for five years, people, and for me to step back into the cage on really short notice and put a camp together – I couldn’t have done it without all the people that supported me”. With the win, Nunes also became the first Brazilian female to obtain a title in the UFC as well.

However, the pressure on Tate’s throat was enough to force a tap and crown Nunes as the new UFC women’s bantamweight champion.

Nunes is now dating fellow UFC fighter Nina Ansaroff, but the two are in different weight classes so there’s no chance they’d ever have to fight. The first three fights at UFC 200 ended with first-round stoppage victories for UFC veterans Joe Lauzon, Jim Miller and Gegard Mousasi.

Nunes tagged Tate with several punches to the head early in the first round. But now the question turns to – who will these fighters face in their next time out?

The now WWE star and former UFC heavyweight champion was back on the bill for one night only and was up against Mark Hunt, whom he defeated on points. But it couldn’t have worked out better for me in the situation, and so I’m ready to fight for the title, and I’m ready to go and get what’s mine.

“He (Cain) looked good tonight”, said Lesnar in a post-match interview.

Julianna Pena wants to be that person. “This girl, she help me every day”, Nunes said in her broken English. Cormier (18-1), who is the current UFC light heavyweight champion, used his size and superior wrestling skills to ride out a decision over the past his prime former middleweight kingpin Silva (33-8).

Lesnar, who is due to return to the WWE for their flagship summer event SummerSlam, said: “Oh man, it took me a little while to get acclimated”.
