Last year, we were promised “new faces” would join the Twin Peaks revival.

Mamma Mia! and Big Love actress Amanda Seyfried is to have a major role as a new character in the sequel to the 1990s-era drama series Twin Peaks. According to a new report from TVLine, the “Brothers & Sisters” alum has been cast for a role … and that’s all we can say. So far full details of who she’s portraying are being kept firmly under wraps, but the U.S. site has speculated she could be Coop and Annie’s daughter. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, original co-creator David Lynch briefly departed the project in April over a salary dispute, but recommitted in May. It has been part of ’90s pop culture, despite its short run.
The original storyline centered around FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper, who is assigned to investigate the murder of Laura Palmer, a young woman beloved by her community. In August, David Lynch only gave a hint of what fans can expect from the revival.
Showtime has yet to st an official Twin Peaks premiere, likely either late 2016 or 2017, but what can we make of the first brand-new cast member?
“You should be optimistic that the people that you want [back] will be there, and then there will be some surprises in addition.”

“I never had doubt we would get him back, Twin Peaks is a huge priority for us”, Nevins said in May.
