Amazon.com Expands Same-Day Delivery To 11 New Metro Markets

If you’re in Louisville, it just got even more attractive to impulse-buy on Amazon.

Amazon’s free same-day delivery service from Prime members is expanding to 11 more cities – including here in Cincinnati.

Other cities where Amazon rolled out the same-day service Wednesday were Fresno, Calif.; Louisville; Milwaukee, Wis.; Raleigh, N.C.; Richmond, Va.; Sacramento, Stockton, Calif.; and Tucson, Ariz.

This delivery option only applies to orders over $35.

Prime free same-day delivery is available in Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, West Allis, Greenfield and South Milwaukee, extending to: Menomonee Falls and Mequon in the north; the Muskego and Oak Creek areas in the south; Brookfield, Waukesha, New Berlin in the west; and Mukwonago in the southwest.

Prime members pay $99 a year for a membership that includes shipping perks and video streaming, among other advantages.

In total, that means Amazon’s same-day delivery is now available in 27 metro areas across the US, or more than 1,000 cities and towns. While there are hundreds of millions of items available on Amazon.com, same-day deliveries are “only” available for some 1 million products. The drones will aim to deliver goods up to five pounds in 30 minutes or less and will fly fly under 400 feet and weigh under 55 pounds.
