Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) Is Climbing On Better Than Expected Q2 Earnings

The e-commerce giant allocated $5 billion to invest in India.

A number of large investors have recently added to or reduced their stakes in AMZN.

It is the fifth consecutive profitable quarter for the e-commerce giant while it continues to make huge investments to expand its operations worldwide and strengthen its competitiveness against its rivals.

Google parent Alphabet Inc and e-commerce giant Amazon.com Inc capped a blockbuster June quarter for the five biggest USA tech companies as their dominance in key markets helped them defy the “law of large numbers”. Finally, Trust Co. of Virginia VA boosted its stake in shares of Amazon.com by 1.1% in the second quarter. The company has the institutional ownership of 66.40% while the Beta factor was 1.10. West Oak Capital LLC now owns 216 shares of the e-commerce giant’s stock valued at $155,000 after buying an additional 111 shares during the last quarter.

Kistler Tiffany Companies LLC increased its position in shares of Amazon.com by 906.7% in the second quarter. The stock was sold at an average price of $703.73, for a total transaction of $1,622,097.65. Following the completion of the transaction, the chief executive officer now directly owns 82,839,882 shares of the company’s stock, valued at approximately $55,609,584,387.78. The transaction was disclosed in a filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission, which can be accessed through the SEC website. The stock was sold at an average price of $726.27, for a total value of $4,539,187.50. Perkins Coie Trust Co now owns 225 shares of the e-commerce giant’s stock valued at $161,000 after buying an additional 150 shares during the last quarter. But analysts at Consumer Intelligence Research Partners estimated Amazon Prime now has 63 million USA members, spending on average about US$1,200 per year, compared to about US$500 per year for non-members.

In reaction, Cantor analyst Youssef Squali raised the price target for the stock to $835 (from $800), while maintaining a Buy rating on the stock.

Amazon.com has 471,827,000 shares which are now outstanding with a price of 760.25 calculating Amazon.com’s market capitalisation to 358.71B United States dollars. Eight equities research analysts have rated the stock with a hold rating and forty-five have given a buy rating to the company. Nineteen analysts raised their price targets on Amazon, which has a median price target of $850. The stock’s 50-day moving average price is $728.02 and its 200-day moving average price is $639.35. Amazon.com has a one year low of $451.00 and a one year high of $766.00. The stock has a market cap of $361.02 billion and a PE ratio of 315.3943. In 1QFY16, EPS came in at $1.07, while in a year ago period, EPS reported was $0.19. Eleven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $29.73 billion. During the same period past year, the firm posted $0.19 earnings per share. Analysts expected EPS of $1.11. The other four rate it a “hold”.

Amazon.com, Inc offers a range of products and services through its Websites. 0 analysts have suggested “Sell” for the company. Bezos noted the company introduced its Amazon Web Services cloud computing facility in that country and its Prime membership service.
