Amazon crafts new section for ‘Handmade’ goods in Europe

Amazon has announced that Handmade at Amazon – the online store which features “genuinely handmade items crafted and sold directly from artisans” – has expanded into Europe.

“Artisans can be discovered by millions of Amazon customers while having the freedom to do what they do best – create unique, handcrafted products”, he said.

‘We have designed a shopping experience for customers looking for unique, handmade items by bringing together numerous best artisans from across Europe. With Handmade at Amazon, artisans can grow their business, and many of them will now be able to turn their passion into a career, ‘ said Francois Saugier, Vice President for Amazon Seller Services in Europe. A third of items will be available for personalisation. Amazon has been encouraged to expand due to the platform’s strong customer traffic and sales growth.

Handmade at Amazon features a variety of product categories including Accessories, Baby and Toys & Games, Jewelry, Home Décor, Artwork, Stationery and Party Supplies, Kitchen and Dining, and Furniture. Like Etsy, artisans are invited to create a storefront or profile, which tells you more about them, their inspirations and how their products are made.

Customers across Amazon’s five European websites can shop by country to find products from artisans in more than 40 countries. Presented by audience and by price, the gift guide makes finding the ideal handmade gift easier than ever.
