The company officially releases a statement on its official website ” All tablets, laptop desktops, monitors, camera lenses and the camera that are fulfilled by Amazon and purchased on or after 11th May 2016 are not eligible for a free refund and will only be eligible for replacement. Otherwise, you’ll just have to accept the prices Amazon offers and be done with it.

Amazon.in has revised its returns policy for electronic items, as per which one can only get them replaced within 10 days if items are found to be defective, Bureaucracy Today has learnt.

A little-known Amazon perk that allowed customers to request a refund in the event an item purchased dropped in price shortly after the sale is reportedly no more. However, customers noted that Amazon has now updated its policy to state that it will only offer post-purchase adjustments on televisions.

The change comes following the launch of third-party apps created to help customers take advantage of the policy, from startups like Pribus and Earny, a co-founder of which told TechCrunch he first noticed the quiet shift from Amazon in early May.

TechCrunch reports that the changes to Amazon’s price protection policy were introduced in early May.

It would also appear that Amazon is unhappy about customers willingly giving up their login credentials in order to link these apps to their Amazon account. We work hard to find the best prices out there and match them for all customers every day.

That being said, Amazon has not really explained why it chose to take such a step, but there are people who claim that the move was made to not only protect Amazon but its various sellers as well. But it’s clear that those exceptions were previously given out freely, and now they are not.
