The local restaurants included are: John O’Groats Restaurant in West Los Angeles, West Hollywood’s Baby Blues BBQ, Sprinkles Cupcakes and Umami Burger. This is the latest in a long line of delivery services Amazon has introduced; in this case, customers will receive their meal within one hour of order. It also offers grocery pick-up and delivery from places like Sprouts Farmers Market and SoCal health food mecca Ehrewhon Natural foods. All of the items can be ordered through Amazon’s Prime Now app, available for iOS and Android as well as Amazon devices.

The service is available for Prime members who use the Prime Now smartphone app. The app will tell you which restaurants are available, then let you track the status of your delivery and watch your delivery driver en route.

Even Amazon’s Prime Now was getting in on the action with snack foods, ice cream, etc. before they announced they would be delivering food from restaurants. The company said that there are no hidden markups on restaurants’ menus. The delivery option is now limited to a few Zip Codes in Los Angeles, but will be expanded to more over time. In zip codes where restaurant delivery is available, customers will see Restaurants on the home page.
