Amazon Prime Day discounts: TVs, tablets, games and more
In its initial update early Tuesday afternoon, Amazon said the Fire Stick is the item that so far had sold the most in the U.S. The company also released a litany of mind-boggling numbers showcasing the scale of the discount operation.

Amazon also said that by 8 a.m. mobile orders on this year’s Prime Day had surpassed those made on last year’s event.
Some of the promotions were available for a limited time, usually a few hours, but new sales rolled out throughout the day. However, shoppers can sign up for a free 30-day trial membership.
Discounts will be on products that have ratings of 3 stars or higher and must offer a 20-percent or greater discount off the average price of an item listed on Amazon.com in the last 90 days. But this year he found deals on electronics: he bought bone conduction headphones that were $14 off at $35.99, a Wi-Fi range extender $50 off at $149 and a Wi-Fi router that was $30 off at $49.
One big complaint: Some shoppers said they couldn’t add items to their cart at checkout, in particular the site’s “Lightning Deals”.
Several other USA retailers appeared to attempt cashing in on the hype surrounding Amazon’s Prime Day event, by offering their own online midsummer promotions. Wal-Mart has cut prices throughout the month on a host of products online.
Amazon previewed some of the thousands of deals that will go on sale in America. J.C. Penney and Toys R Us offered their own sales too.
Shoppers with an Echo device can use Amazon’s voice-command assistant Alexa to make purchases.

Like New Year’s Eve fireworks displays, Amazon’s second annual global Prime Day will be rolling out in different countries as midnight strikes. More third-party sellers are offering Prime Day deals, too. Amazon said it’s already seeing an increase in mobile sales over past year.
