Walmart was offering its own July online savings event before Amazon Prime Day was officially announced, and now the discount giant is sweetening its deal.

IT’S Amazon Prime day where, for one day only, online retailer Amazon has wonderful deals on some of their best selling products. “Following last year’s record sales, we have dramatically increased the inventory behind many deals”, Greg Greeley, vice president of Amazon Prime stated, noting that USA members will have access to almost double the TV units compared to Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined. “We admittedly did not have the most elegant deal shopping site previous year for Prime Day“.
-For the first time, toys will be offered in Prime Day deals, including toys marketed with recent movies such as Finding Dory and The Secret Life of Pets.
Prime Day is a sales event for members of Amazon Prime’s $99 shipping and digital content service that has turned into a crucial part of the online retailer’s growth plan.
Walmart’s website includes an oversized “Free Shipping” banner at the top of its home page – a perk associated with Amazon’s Prime membership and Prime Day deals. Amazon Prime memberships are priced at $99 for the full year or $10.99 per month.
Tuesday, July 12 is Amazon’s second annual Prime Day.
Amazon said it will have tens of thousands of specials throughout the day with new deals coming as often as every five minutes.
Amazon is offering deals on 100,000 items. Across a range of 380 products, Amazon’s Black Friday prices were on average 9 percent lower than its Prime Day prices, Market Track reported. On Tuesday, July 12th, Amazon is launching a one-day shopping extravaganza. Called ShippingPass, it costs $49 a year.

The Limited, Sears, Bealls, Banana Republic, Express, the Gap and Old Navy are all offering big discounts in the week before Prime day, says Offers.com. Beauty brands like AXE, Gillette and The Body Shop are cutting 35% off products, and you can find tons of huge sales on kitchen goods and appliances.
