Amazon Prime signs ex-Top Gear hosts
Amazon has committed to airing three seasons of the show, a move which won the bidding war with Netflix and television networks, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The 55-year-old, who recently suffered a cancer-scare and the break down of his marriage, said today: “I feel like I’ve climbed out of a bi-plane and into a spaceship“.
Amazon’s new auto series will add to a growing catalogue of original, exclusive shows that it has commissioned to attract more subscribers to its streaming service. The development is, however, bad news for Irish fans because Amazon Prime Video is not available yet in Ireland. I have already been there.
Landing the ex-Top Gear presenters, as well as ex-producer and creative force behind the show Andy Wilman, is quite the coup for Amazon.
British tabloid Daily Mail has launched an interesting rumor about Jenson Button co-hosting Top Gear alongside Chris Evans.
Button, who now stands 17th in the F1 championship after enduring a torrid start to the season with McLaren, is friendly with Evans and twice appeared on Top Gear before Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May left.
A representative of the Traveller Movement complained after a scene in which the show’s now ex-host Jeremy Clarkson was seen holding a placard with the words Pikey’s Peak while Richard Hammond drove a vehicle up a mountain.
Clarkson was famously fired by the BBC earlier in the year after punching a producer. After rumors that a Top Gear replacement was on the way to Netflix, Clarkson broke the news this morning that the team is back together for a new show on Amazon Instant Video. Amazon has also signed acclaimed director and comedian Woody Allen to produce an undisclosed TV series for the streaming service which is expected to debut next year.
May joked: “We have become part of the new age of smart TV”.

But what else can you get for your £79 a year I hear you say? Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond have a new show.
