Amazon said to launch Spotify, Apple Music competitor
For one, this new streaming service is said to feature a massive song library, much larger than Prime Music’s catalog. There has been rumors developing over the last few months that Amazon is going to launch a different kind of Amazon Music service and now today reports are emerging that the rumored service is due to launch very soon. But, now these plans are more concrete and the service could be launched as early as this fall.

The move into paid music subscription will place Amazon at the front-and-centre of the music streaming wars, between Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal and others. However, it is not quite in the same league as the likes of Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play Music All Access and the rest of the pack.
According to the publication, Amazon is now going through the process of launching a standalone music streaming service, something that it probably should have had right out of the gate.
Amazon is preparing to launch a standalone streaming music service that will rival Apple Music and Spotify, reports Reuters. The service will cost $9.99 a month, and offer on-demand access to full albums from a catalog similar to that offered by its competitors. Being able to tie music streaming closely to the Echo, Amazon is able to offer people a complete package.
Amazon will be entering a crowded market – the question is, is it too late?
