Update: An Amber Alert for Dereck ‘D.J.’ Wayne Felder, 12, has been canceled. Police said the last time the pre-teen had been publicly seen was Monday, and it was believed that 40-year-old Cornelius Alix, who’s also known as Chekita Joseph, was looking after the boy.

Felder was found Wednesday afternoon.

Cornelius Alix AKA Chekita Joseph is being sought in connection to the disappearance of Dereck Felder Jr., 12, a missing Conroe boy.

Police believe the suspect is driving a silver/grey 2014 Dodge Charger. He was seen wearing black gym shorts and a blue t-shirt.

Authorities said Alix could face charges in Felder’s disappearance. He is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

According to Conroe police, Dereck’s mother believes he might be headed to the Clear Lake area of Houston. Joseph then kept making excuses about bringing them home. Felder and two other children spent a few days at Joseph’s home.

Investigators have questions about Felder’s association with Joseph within the last few days.

Joseph is not in custody but is considered a person of interest.
