A 5-year-old girl has gone missing since 4.30pm, Sunday afternoon after she ran away from family members near the Nielsen Road overpass.

Around 160 police and SES personnel are now searching for the little girl.

The dog squad, ground crews and the police helicopter have also been scouring the area.

Residents living in the area between Alexander Drive, Hinkler Drive, Explorer Way and surrounds are asked to check their yards, sheds, pools and other hiding spots for Jocelyn.

A command centre has been established and the missing girl’s parents are remaining there waiting for any updates of her whereabouts.

The girl, who suffers from a medical condition, is described as Caucasian, 115cm tall, with blonde shoulder-length hair and blue eyes.

“The locations we have searched overnight was the last known sightings of where Jocelyn was last seen and we are moving to another area close by to see if we can locate her in that area”, Borland said in a press conference.

She was wearing a pink top with a ladybird emblem on it and denim shorts when she disappeared.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the girl’s disappearance at this time.

“We have a couple of conformations of her approaching a residence, a member of the public has seen her and there have been no further confirmed sightings since then”, he said.
