Amber Alert issued for abducted NC girl
A Douglas Edwards of the same age is listed in the North Carolina sex offender registry for a 1996 conviction of indecent liberties with a minor and first-degree sex offense involving a 6-year-old.

Earlier this morning, authorities were searching for the missing girl along River Road. Jerry Brewer of the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
Stefanny Lenneth Lopez-Castro, 6, was last seen in her driveway of 5140 Carolina Beach Road before being abducted by a man on a moped. Stefanny was last seen wearing a white short-sleeved shirt, light pink shorts with white polka dots and black flip flops.
The sheriff’s office will hold a news conference at 11 a.m.to give an update on her condition.
She is described as white and Hispanic and about 4 feet tall, weighing 39 pounds. She has pierced ears and was wearing cubic zirconia earrings.
The Anderson Police Department charged a man who they say was involving in a shooting that happened on September 1. A family member said the girl was taken to a hospital.
A prayer vigil for Stefanny began Wednesday evening and was expected to continue through the night at Basilica Shrine of St. Mary at 412 Ann St.in Wilmington, according to the church Facebook page.
