Van Ree spoke out out after news broke of Amber’s 2009 arrest for misdemeanor domestic violence against the artist – dismissing the charge as being motivated by “homophobia”.
Though Heard was taken into custody at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on September 14, 2009, and booked into King County Jail on suspicion of domestic violence assault in the fourth degree, a judge released her unconditionally September 15 when prosecutors declined to file any charges, police and court filings confirm.
