While the police were called to the couple’s residence at the time of the incident, Amber declined to give them an official statement – but now, the star’s lawyers say Amber has been forced to give her statement after Johnny’s team went to the press in an attempt to spread lies about her character.
Heard claims that Depp offered her money to stay quiet after he supposedly hit her, but she instead chose to file for divorce first thing on May 23.
Depp’s teenage daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, has also weighed in on her family’s public turmoil, saying in an Instagram post: “My dad is the sweetest most loving person I know, he’s been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him would say the same”.
According to Forbes, Depp’s fortune is estimated to stand at $400m and is allegedly made $30m in 2015 alone.
Samantha F. Spector and Joseph P. Koenig, the lawyers representing Heard, said she kept the recent alleged abuse from the LAPD because she didn’t want to harm Depp’s reputation or career.
“If that occurs, and the truth is revealed, there is no doubt that Amber’s claims will be substantiated beyond any doubt, and hopefully Johnny will get the help that he so desperately needs”, the attorneys said. In her court filing accusing Depp of domestic violence, Heard states: “There was one severe incident in December 2015 when I truly feared for my life”.
According to Us Weekly magazine, papers filed at Los Angeles Superior Court show she earned $259,876 in 2005 but after expenses including vehicle and medical insurance and agents fees of just over $35,000, her take-home earnings were considerably lower.
Representatives for Depp did not immediately respond to a request for comment. On the other side, you have the actor’s camp claiming Heard is “attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse”.
The guards claimed that it was Heard who had fits of violent rage during and had to routinely pull her off of him during the 15-month marriage.
On Tuesday, Heard’s attorneys released a statement to ET after several of Depp’s friends and loved ones came forward in his defense over the weekend, following the actress being granted a temporary domestic violence restraining order against Depp.
