Gene Wilder is gone but he’s not forgotten, at least at AMC Theatres nationwide this weekend.

55 AMC theaters around the USA will honor Wilder by showing two of his most popular films, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and “Blazing Saddles”.
Wilder died this week at age 83 of complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
The move should come as welcome news for mourning fans, as neither of the films are now available on Netflix, Hulu or any other streaming service.
Theaters will be showing both movies at 55 locations, with tickets for each at only five dollars.
The two films will be screened at 55 AMC locations on September 3 and 4.
If you can’t make it to the special screenings this weekend, there’s another upcoming opportunity to catch one of Wilder’s popular movies in theaters this fall.
This is the latest theatrical response to a notable death. It showed Prince’s “Purple Rain” over two weekends this spring. Numerous showings sold out quickly.

When “Saturday Night Live” star Gilda Radner, Wilder’s third wife, died of ovarian cancer in 1989, the actor helped establish the Gilda Radner Ovarian Cancer Detection Center in her honor.
