Amendola Had Offseason Knee & Ankle surgeries
Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola recently underwent two surgeries this offseason, one on his left knee, and the other on his ankle. He’s expected to be OK for the start of training camp, but there are always concerns when it comes to a player of Edelman’s skill set when a foot injury is involved.

Amendola’s medical procedures further thins the top of the depth chart, as Julian Edelman recently had surgery to fix a small crack in his left foot, which he broke last season in Week 10.
He had both surgeries early in the offseason, but the Herald says the Patriots won’t rush him back to the field. He also had a bone spur in his ankle removed, according to a source. Unfortunately, an injury-laden roster led by franchise quarterback Tom Brady could only do so much, as they succumbed to the eventual champions, Denver Broncos, in the AFC Championship Game. They can be removed at any time during training camp, but if they remain on the PUP list at the start of the season, National Football League rules will require them to miss the first six regular-season games. It’s also unclear when Amendola went under.
Amendola, who restructured his contract last week to remain with the Pats for the 2016 season, joins Julian Edelman on the mend.

The Patriots announced that they will once again hold joint practices with another team in training camp, hosting the Chicago Bears for two days of practices at Gillette Stadium Aug. 15-16 before playing the Bears in a preseason game Aug. 18.
