Amendola won’t play vs. Broncos

New England will likely feature more two tight end sets featuring Rob Gronkowski and Scott Chandler.

New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola will not play this weekend against the Denver Broncos and is not traveling with the team, according to Steve Burton of WBZ TV Boston.

Another week, another key offensive weapon is out for the Patriots.

The Patriots officially ruled wide receiver Danny Amendola, linebacker Jamie Collins and tight end Michael Williams out for Sunday night’s game against the Denver Broncos on Saturday. So, depending on how his knee does during the final test, we will either see him or not as he won’t travel with the team if his knee is bothering him. Maybe it was that it was a night game, or maybe it was that the calls in question were significant, but the errors seemed out of control.

Furthermore, No. 4 receiver Aaron Dobson was placed on season-ending injured reserve Thursday while four-year veteran Keshawn Martin has missed the last five games with a hamstring injury. Other than Brandon LaFell, the other wide outs are players who are mostly backups. That Broncos defense can get after the quarterback, so Brady will have to be getting rid of the ball quickly, and that is where Amendola comes into play.
