America’s Oldest Leap Day Baby Celebrates Her 25th Birthday In Style!

But for Jessica and Mark Worrall, baby Daniel Thomas, born on Monday, February 29, just after midnight, being a “leapling” baby feels more like a blessing than anything else. The chances of having a baby on Leap Day are 1 in 1,461.

Newborns at St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania are being dressed up in green costumes to celebrate their Leap Day births. Proud parents of Caden Lee were not expecting it. “Well we were quite surprised that he was two weeks early and then when we realized it was leap day it was even more surprising but we are glad he is here and he’s healthy”.

“We have to tell her it’s not February 29 every year”.

“Trevor, I had him the day after his due date, and I thought it would be awesome if that happened with Ian”, she said.

“Every time I see both of them, it’s the happiest I’ve ever felt and it’s really hard to explain”.
