FX released a lot of promos, but only one revealed the season’s theme/storyline, which ended up being a fake Roanoke docuseries.

FX on Tuesday renewed Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s hit horror anthology series for Season 7, although it’s a potential eighth installment that has everyone buzzing. If the protagonist trio aren’t ghosts, another popular sub-theory is that the production itself, breaking that sacred fourth wall, will become haunted and that will become the plot focus after episode six.

Hotel, also known as American Horror Story Season 5, is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. All five seasons of the series are now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video! The season six premiere now stands as the third-most-watched episode in franchise history and the fifth-highest-rated episode in the demo.

We know that we will soon see a link between the current season and the one we know as the Freakshow. The announcement couldn’t have come at a better time; we’ve been driving ourselves insane with AHS: Roanoke, trying to guess at Lady Gaga’s character, parsing out the odd anthology-themed episodes, and digging into the deeper mystery of the season. “It comes to me as it always comes to me”, he said.

The parallels to Season 3 in the third episode of Roanoke were made abundantly clear thanks to the theme of witchcraft and an appearance from Coven actor Leslie Jordan.

But it does beg the question: if AHS will continue to look for new ways to surprise fans, then what is next?

Though it was long rumored that the season would tackle Roanoke, it wasn’t until the September 14 premiere that the information was confirmed.

Season six centers around the lost Colony of Roanoke, a group of English settlers who mysteriously disappeared from an island off the coast of what is now North Carolina in the 16th century.

Under Queen Elizabeth’s orders, famous English explorer Sir Walter Raleigh founded the Roanoke Colony on Roanoke Island in Dare County, North Carolina, during the late 16th-century. He later recalled, “She wanted me to understand her”.

During the Anglo-Spanish War, the colonists disappeared without leaving any trace except for “Croatan”. The idea sprung out of the blue as have most of the previous incarnations.
