Like title sequences past, Hotel’s intro – which serves up everything from skulls to gas masks to pools of blood – perfectly captures the season’s chilling tone. Then a mysterious tip steers his investigation in the direction of the perplexing Hotel Cortez.

We’re less than a week away from the premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel, but you don’t need to wait until October. 7 for the show to haunt your dreams.

The second season briefly touched on the idea of aliens, but there was a little too much action coming from the sadistic Bloody Face serial killer, zombie-creating Nazi surgeon and mental institution patients to really give the theme a chance to develop.

“Scream Queens” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Fox. He’s playing a detective named John Lowe who’s investigating the odd (read: murder-y) happenings at the titular inn.

Gaga, Bassett and Campbell will be joined by Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Wes Bentley, Chloë Sevigny and Matt Bomer in the cast of “Hotel“, along with newcomer Cheyenne Jackson.
