The show, which was once seen as indomitable, has however fallen on hard times prompting FOX TV to call it quits on the show after 15 seasons. There are a handful of other individual moments that could easily have made it on this list, so feel free to share your picks in the comments section.
Of course, someone still had to be crowned the victor of Season 15 before the plug was pulled on Idol (for now).

Renae’s album will be overseen by Ethiopia Habtemariam, president of Motown and president of urban music/co-head of creative at Universal Music Publishing Group, who tells Billboard, “We are extremely excited to partner with Big Machine and 19 Entertainment on such an incredible talent as La’Porsha”.
As we say goodbye to the show, long-time fans may remember the rush of calling in as many votes as possible, hoping their favorite contestant would make it to the next round. He congratulated Idol for “struggling for 14 seasons” without him before giving Seacrest a bro hug.

Over at Dave’s barbershop, folks were all abuzz about the American Idol finale and their girl, La’Porsha Renae, possibly bringing home the crown to the Magnolia State. As the show entered its final minutes, La’Porsha and Trent stood side by side with Seacrest, waiting for him to read the name. A pregnant Clarkson was unable to attend the live show, but instead performed a medley of her hits in a pretaped segment.

Wearing a sexy maid outfit, Jennifer Lopez sang and danced her butt off to her new single “Ain’t Your Mama”.

It was a surprise win for Harmon, as the judges had tipped 22-year-old Renae to triumph. “I believe it should be nearly as easy as voting on ‘American Idol.’ And we’re working on that”, Obama said.
