‘American Idol’ Hopeful Dies in Rollover Crash on I-95 Soon After Pennsylvania
According to a police officer at the scene, the 20-year-old woman who was killed and others in an SUV were on their way back from attending the “American Idol” auditions at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.

Pennsylvania State Police announced Natasha Bellott, 20, of Bloomfield was killed in the crash, which happened just south of the Yardley-Newtown Road exit around 7 p.m. Bellott was said to still be carrying an American Idol ticket and her birth certificate, which suggests at the very least that it was her intention to audition. Three passengers were thrown off from the vehicle due to the speed, and fire officials described injuries of some surviving victims’ as very serious.
None of the victims were wearing seatbelts. The auto, a 2003 silver Jeep Liberty, veered over both northbound lanes and tumbled several times before stopping in the center median.

According to emergency responders at the scene, three people were ejected from the vehicle by the force of the crash, which left the vehicle crumpled in a heap along the highway and auto parts strewn across the highway. Leslie McCoy, 19, of Monclair, N.J., is hospitalized at St. Mary Medical Center with a head injury and fractured ribs. The remaining four occupants were transported to Capital Health Hospital in Trenton for non life-threatening injuries.
