“American Idol”Watch Trent Harmon win 15th, final season of reality show”
Not only did American Idol singer La Porsha Renae lose out at this year’s final, the vocalist also lost 1000s of fans after suggesting she didn’t agree with the “gay lifestyle”. After all the votes were counted, it was Trent Harmon winning the final season of American Idol. She is a single mother and was a fan favorite as well as Harmon throughout the season. The finale was just as entertaining for those who hadn’t been watching the current season.
Last night on American Idol Season 15, this was not your typical Idol Finale, as the Idol Top 2 were not the real focus of the entire episode. Remember any of the finalists over the past 15 seasons?
The good news – “The 100” (0.5) managed to stay fairly solid, “Legends of Tomorrow” (0.7) stabilized at its most-recent rating, and “The Catch” (1.1) is finally showing some impressive retention a few weeks in.
While that means we didn’t get a Kelly & Justin Guarini reunion that would have made our middle school selves unbelievably happy, we did get some A+ tweets from Kelly about the final show. He knows that the dynamic must be changed drastically, with the panel of Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. but not much more.
It was a star-studded super-sized American Idol series finale as a new victor was named.
Scott Borchetta, American Idol mentor and Big Machine Records President, announced that he would be making a record deal with Renae as well, who he will sign to Big Machine Records/Motown as the first artist on the label. The talent list included “Idol”‘s most successful winners, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, and Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson.
There was a brief nod to nostalgia, with clips from past auditions presided over by original judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.
‘Yes, I know [American Idol] is a singing competition, but it’s also a show where a lot of times they shed light on certain things, ‘ she told Yahoo. “Trent Harmon!” The crowd cheered. Trent and La’Porsha have represented the Birthplace of America’s Music well, and we can not wait to buy their albums!

Check out the brilliant performance by the past and present Idols above. They were joined by Simon Cowell, who took the opportunity to deliver an apology on behalf of the panel for all the harsh comments they made to contestants.
