E! News caught up with Isaac after his groundbreaking win in Las Vegas, where he admitted he’s “still in awe” over the $1 million dollar prize.
Out of more than 3,500 contestants spread out over seven seasons, Caldiero is the only one to ever win.
With up-close-and-personal profiles and returning favorites, the competition has moved from a male-driven niche cable series to NBC’s No. 2 summer show among younger viewers, and 52% of its audience is women, says executive producer Kent Weed.
After seven seasons, NBC’s American Ninja Warrior has crowned its first champion, as Isaac Caldiero, a 33-year-old rock climber and busboy, became the first US contestant to complete all four “stages” of its grueling Las Vegas obstacle course in Monday’s season finale.

America Ninja Warrior was renewed for an eighth season, which will being filming in Spring 2016. They took on stage four, where they had to climb up 75 feet on a rope in 30 seconds.
The ultimate three levels have been filmed over about 10 hours in late June, with Caldiero rising the victor shortly earlier than dawn after an unusually scorching day.
But then it was time for the second guy.

By the rules, the money goes to the fastest person. “If there’s more than one finisher, the one with the fastest time gets it”, Weed explained. “I don’t think he harbors any ill will about it. He’s just so happy to have done what he’s done”.
