American’s argue on admitting Syrian refugees, Canada welcomes more
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau vouched during the election campaigns that brought him to power that the Liberal government would resettle 25,000 refugees in Canada by the end of 2015. Both of these organizations carry out their own processing and screening of refugees.

He said a flight carrying 298 Syrian refugees was “in the air” and will arrive in Montreal at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Canada has already begun welcoming Syrian refugees on government sponsored flights from the Middle East as part of a fast-track resettlement program.
The Liberals have committed to resettling 10,000 Syrians by year end, and a further 15,000 by the end of February.
Mr McCallum says Canada hopes to settle 35,000 to 50,000 Syrian refugees by the end of 2016, with the United Nations refugee agency, the Jordanian government and the International Organisation for Migration helping with the vetting process.
McCallum said factors beyond the government’s control, including the weather and refugees wanting to say goodbye to friends and families, may not make it possible to meet its ambitious goal by year’s end. “And once the wave builds to maximum level, large numbers of refugees (will be) able to fly across the ocean to Canada”.
“The crisis continues to have an enormous social and economic impact on the host countries, with many local, municipal and national services such as health, education and water under severe strain”.
Refugees mass on the Turkish border.
Are they equipped to handle a potential doubling of refugees fleeing the Syrian civil war, many of whom will require physical and psychological care?

The displaced refugees story has captured the attention of so many Canadians, entire cities have opened up their doors and resources to include the refugees into their communities. He said that initially there was a “good chance” for achieving the goal by the end of the year, but given the present situation, there are only eight days left to bring in 8,000 refugees.
