Weaver tweeted, “I am asking for prayers for my family, due to the tragedy in Nice, France I lost my uncle Sean and my 11 year old cousin Brodie I ask for prayers for my aunt Kim and my two other cousins Maegan and Austin during this tough time and prayers for my family’s safe trip back home #CopelandStrong”.

Friends of Sean and Brodie set up a GoFundMe page for the Copeland family to help cover funeral expenses and other expenses the family may incur due to the tragic loss of life.

A Facebook post from the Hill Country Baseball Club, a youth baseball league, identified Brodie as one of its players. “He’s popular, he’s amusing, he’s mature, he’s fun to be around”.

On Sunday night, Kim Copeland issued a statement from Nice following the loss of her husband and son. Lexmark spokesman Jerry Grasso said Copeland was “a terrific leader” and a phenomenal person. He held up her resident’s card for journalists as he paid tribute outside a Nice hospital.

Cable, who worked with Brodie almost every week for the past two years, said the 11-year-old also participated in theater productions and aspired to be an actor or comedian. In an email, Cable said he had worked with Brodie nearly weekly since the family moved to Lakeway two years ago and was at a Florida tournament with the family before they left for Europe.

The post was accompanied by a photo of the young boy at a beach.

Another victim was a Russian named in reports as 21-year-old student Victoria Savchenko.

In an interview with NPR, Bill Bishop, a family friend whose son played on a baseball team with Brodie, called the Copelands the kind of family that did everything together – and especially athletics.

Relatives say a father and son from the Austin area are among the victims of the deadly truck attack in Nice. They were among 85 UC Berkeley students studying overseas.

Leslie was among 85 Berkeley students attending the program titled “Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Europe”, the school said.

“Today was a very [tragic] day for my family”, she added. His team was developing software that would allow soccer coaches to monitor how exhausted players are in real time.

“I think about Brodie’s teammates and his classmates, friends who knew him a little bit, friends that knew him well, and I have to think there’s a part of you that’s a little bit mad tonight”.

Two of Sean’s brothers are traveling there with the U.S. Department of State to bring everyone home, Davis said.
