Americans saved $540 on gas this year
“Falling gas prices will lead to more North Carolinians traveling to celebrate the holidays and ring in the New Year with family and friends”, said AAA of the Carolinas CEO David E. Parsons. Prices had fallen faster in the Great Lakes area than in other parts of the country in recent weeks, but AAA said that over the past week prices increased by 4 cents in OH, 6 cents in IN, 7 cents in MI and 9 cents in IL.

American drivers have about $540 more in their pockets this year thanks to low gas prices.
While some areas of DE have seen pump prices below $2 for a few weeks now, the statewide average officially fell to $1.99 on Tuesday.
Since OPEC has raised its production ceiling, crude oil prices have tanked and gas prices have followed suit.
Including the change in gas prices in Texas during the past week, prices yesterday were 52.4 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 14.4 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

Interestingly, Frederica’s lone station offered gas for $1.94 a gallon, the second cheapest in the state. Hawaii had the most expensive gas at $2.74 for regular, followed by California at $2.65. The national average has decreased 15.8 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 53.3 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago. This year, though, unusually warm weather has reduced demand for heating oil, and diesel prices have continued to fall.
