“In the framework of investigations carried out following the Paris attacks, at the worldwide and national level, Geneva police and their partners are actively looking for people whose description has been provided by the Swiss Confederation”, the Geneva department of security said in a statement.
Recently, cities like Geneva and Canada were placed on alert status for possible attacks from the militant group.
A security guard at the United Nations in Geneva told Reuters on Thursday that Swiss authorities were searching for “four guys” believed to be in the area.

Customs guards are reported by Le Temps to be on high alert, but not more visible than usual.
“It is maximum alert”, a second United Nations guard said.
The Tribune de Genève, a Swiss news agency, reported that a journalist claimed to have seen a police report regarding the four unknown suspects that specified Geneva, Chicago and Toronto as possible targets.
Following the Paris attack that killed 130 people, threats of ISIS attacks seem to be everywhere.
Authorities were notified Wednesday that federal officials had flagged that “several suspects were likely in Geneva or in the region around the city”, according to a statement issued by the city’s department of security. It said the public can stay informed through a mobile phone app.
A security scare shut down Geneva’s airport for about 20 minutes as authorities examined two suspicious objects. The other item was detonated in a controlled explosion, the spokesman said.
Security measures were raised due to guidance from Swiss authorities, LeBlanc said.
“In this time of elevated threat, the US Embassy in Bern reminds US citizens to review personal security plans, remain aware of surroundings at all times and monitor local news stations for updates”, the message on its website said.
