US President Barack Obama made held a special press conference Wednesday evening, calming fears about terrorism over the upcoming American Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
He shifted his focus Wednesday to Americans who may worry that the attacks in Paris, which took place at restaurants, a concert venue and a sports stadium, could be replicated in the U.S.
The president again expressed solidarity with the people of Paris, and said the United States would work to bring the killers to justice.
Ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, President Barack Obama spoke about the status of our national security voicing what many travelers and families are anxious about. “We are taking every possible step to keep our homeland safe”, Obama told reporters at the White House, flanked by his top counterterrorism and national security advisers. “If you see something suspicious, say something”, he said.
Obama’s reassurances come as ISIS has promised more terrorist strikes in the wake of the Paris attacks, and just a day after Obama recommitted to supporting France in a meeting with French President Francois Hollande.

“Current information suggests that (ISIS), Al Qaeda, Boko Haram and other terrorist groups continue to plan terrorist attacks in multiple regions”, the State Department wrote. Cities across the US, including NY, Washington, and Los Angeles are stepping up their police presence and airports are advising passengers to allow extra time to get through security screenings.
