Amid attendance attacks, Rubio focuses on Iowa
MCCAMMON: For Steve Lawler (ph), a farmer from nearby Ogden, Rubio is hitting all the right notes.

The republican presidential candidate is trying to increase his presence in Iowa with more than two dozen events across the state in the last couple of month.
164-a-14-(Senator Marco Rubio, R-Fla., GOP presidential candidate, at town hall meeting)-“at every stage”-Florida Senator and GOP presidential candidate Marco Rubio says the US doesn’t give citizens their rights. He was totally opposed to it, and didn’t go there to vote no. Then what’s it matter that you’re opposed to it?”
Pataki had hung his hopes on doing well in early-voting New Hampshire, but he has barely registered in state or national polls.
So, as Santorum embarked Tuesday on a two-day campaign swing through Iowa, the former Pennsylvania senator and victor of the 2012 Iowa caucuses is seeking to undercut Cruz’s conservative credentials on same sex marriage – and, in the process, questioning the people who have endorsed Cruz.
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz said last week if he is elected president that he will take on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
“I think what America needs is more West Texas values, understanding to live within your means”, Cruz said.
“There is a very good possibility that the Republican primary will be decided by the end of March”, Cruz said on a year-end conference call with volunteers, adding as always that he expects to be the nominee. NPR’s Sarah McCammon spent yesterday with Rubio in Iowa. Chris Christie of New Jersey and John Kasich of Ohio.
“No other candidate for president has received more classified intelligence briefings or better understands the threats facing our nation today than Marco”.
Christie hammered Rubio Tuesday for missing a December 18 Senate vote on the $1.8 trillion spending and tax package.
While supporters say Rubio just needs to stay in the top cluster in the first few states, some see his approach as risky.
First and foremost, the agreement in Bush world is that the Iowa contest has become a race for third place, behind Sen.
“Some of the tea party, I suspect, are going to be unhappy with congressman Gowdy”, Buchanan said.
But Rubio’s super-PAC, Conservative Solutions, quickly retaliated with a web ad attacking the former Florida governor, suggesting that a season of heretofore mostly positive political advertising is coming to a close.

“The caucuses are about organize, organize, organize and get hot at the end”, said Iowa Republican strategist Doug Gross, who has not endorsed a candidate.
