Amid strains, Trump says only he knows finalists for Cabinet

However, a well-known Republican moderate was pushed out of transition planning.

Among the top advisers in the purge is former U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, who abruptly resigned from the transition team after being assigned to lead the national security efforts.

Several officials, allies of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, have left the team in the wake of Trump’s decision last week to replace Christie as transition chairman with running mate Mike Pence.

Pence yesterday provided to the White House the necessary paper work that would facilitate smooth transition.

Trump said in a tweet on Tuesday that the process of selecting his new cabinet and other positions was “very organised”. One only has to look at the rest of Friday’s press release, in which he announced a series of additions to the team’s Executive Committee, to see that.

Additional changes may be in store. Lobbyist Matthew Freedman was also fired from the team.

With roughly two months until Trump is sworn into office, however, the clock is ticking for his team to populate the sprawling federal government with appointees, fill key White House roles, nominate Cabinet members, and map out policy priorities.

The statement is addressed to Trump, President Barack Obama and members of Congress.

Giuliani, thought to be an early choice for attorney general, was said by a person close to the transition team to have personally appealed to Trump for the diplomatic job. And though he’s been restrained on social media, Trump has still fired off contradictory tweets on protests against him and the Electoral College.

Mnuchin, a former Goldman Sachs banker who worked as Trump’s finance director during the campaign, was spotted by reporters arriving at Trump Tower on Tuesday morning, “working on an economic plan with the transition”, he said. Jeff Sessions of Alabama told reporters.

Trump, whose aggressive use of Twitter against rivals was a key element of his presidential campaign, tweeted a list of several world leaders he had spoken with since his upset victory in the November 8 presidential election.

In a Wednesday statement, Zeman said he’s pleased with that because “the USA can not send a better ambassador to Prague” than her. The probe dismissed numerous conspiracy theories that had been circulated by critics of Clinton, who was then secretary of state.

Rogers was told on Monday on the phone that he was out, according to a source familiar with the transition.

Some current USA intelligence officials anxious that Rogers’ departure would mean Trump was leaning toward more confrontational hardliners to lead his foreign policy team.

Former GOP national security official Eliot Cohen blasted Mr Trump’s team on Twitter, calling them “angry, arrogant”.

Possible candidates include John Bolton, the hawkish former ambassador to the United Nations, and Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of NY and top surrogate for Trump.

During his campaign, Trump has attacked media reports he found unfavorable to him, often targeting the New York Times as a failed newspaper while regularly granting its reporters interviews.

Hawkish former United Nations ambassador John Bolton and retired general Michael Flynn reportedly are also among those shortlisted for top jobs.

They denounced the former Breitbart News chief, whose website is a forum for the “alt-right”, a loose grouping of neo-Nazis, white supremacists and anti-Semites.

Turkey’s president has criticized protests in the United States against Donald Trump, saying the president-elect should be respected and given time to show how he will govern. “We’re going to make sure that they’re people that we are confident will pass confirmation and they’re going to be people that we think can implement the president-elect’s vision”, Miller said.
