The report noted: “Pacquiao was said to have wanted to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. again in April 2016, before focussing on his political career but the latter has said he has since retired with a 49-0 record”. “I feel so happy to be here in Dubai”.
Instead British fighter Khan – who has long targeted a fight with Mayweather or Pacquiao – and WBO junior welterweight champion Crawford appear to be the two candidates to get in the ring with Pacquiao.
Whilst in India this week with his wife, Amir Khan told The Hindu: “Talks are going really well”.
“I’m sure the kid would take the fight”, Arum told the Telegraph.
“They (Pacquiao’s team) are speaking to my team, I have just left it to my team”. According to the Telegraph, both sides have assured that talks for a Khan-Pacquiao bout are ongoing, with Arum confirming that there is definite interest for the boxing contest.
If you see a Rolls Royce Phantom pulling out of Dubai Airport on Monday night take a look in the backseat and you’ll most probably find Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.
“But we are still waiting for response on what’s going to happen”.
Ashley Hammond of Gulf News reported that it was Pacquiao’s first visit to Dubai and thanked his hosts for the warm welcome especially to the Filipinos in Dubai.
Well, Manny, we hope you’ve got time after your game to get chillin’ out maxin’ relaxin’ all cool, shootin’ a few b-ball down by the pool.
