Amir Khan not interested in facing Floyd Mayweather
Bolton-born Khan is going toe-to-toe with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on Saturday in what will be the first major bout at the T-Mobile Arena, which is part of the MGM group. Khan believes Floyd Mayweather is jealous of the focus on Khan’s fight with Alvarez.

If there was an argument for Alvarez defeating Lara it came in his superior aggression and Khan recognises he can not risk being as indecisive as the Cuban. It’s not about winning it closely. It has been a while now since I held one and I want to be world champion again.
“I think he’s where he wants to be”.
However, Khan not only is a big fan who’s dabbled in MMA training, but he also co-owns Super Fight League, which bills itself as Asia’s biggest pro MMA promotion.
Donegal man Jason Quigley will fight American James De La Rosa on the undercard. I was just a kid from Sheffield and it was wonderful to see my name up in lights like that.
“It’s going to be like a game of chess at times”, he said. “It’s going to be a great challenge for me”. We understand that. And he’s gonna be strong going into this fight. Despite putting Peterson down in the opening round, he showed a lack of boxing intelligence in a scrappy affair which cost him two points when, despite repeated warnings from referee Joseph Cooper, he continued to push Peterson amid his struggles. Will I have that much energy by running away all 12 rounds?
“Canelo” may have to change his tune a bit in order to make this contest happen, however, because if he doesn’t, it could hurt him in the long run. “He is walking and driving around Las Vegas, and people are talking about my fight with Canelo”. Khan, who captured Kotelnik’s 140-pound title, relied on his speed – using his power only when it mattered most – to claim a wide decision. “I could stop now and I’d be very happy with my whole career. With that, it gives you that motivation to work harder and give it that extra mile”.
Hunter has guided the undefeated 32-year-old, who is incidentally his godson, since the age of nine, and having already improved Khan, he remains confident he still has time to inspire him to fulfil his undoubted potential.

However, through a combination of Alvarez catching him with some occasional heavy shots and Khan’s inexperience fighting at this weight, the challenger could slow down as the fight goes on and that will leave him open to risky situations. “Otherwise, I wouldn’t have taken the fight”. “I wouldn’t let anyone get close to me”, he said.
