Amit Shah Trapped in Lift, BJP Seeks Probe

Shah has reportedly discussed the seat sharing issue with his senior party leaders of Bihar. There was no lift operator or person capable of handling such emergency situation around. However, late on Thursday, the Machievellian politico was forced to genuflect and crawl out off an obdurate, government-guesthouse lift in Patna that refused to open and had to be broken, for it to disgorge Shah and four trapped colleagues.

Even the mobiles of the leaders who were stuck inside were also out of coverage as they are inside a closed box.

The incident happened when Shah was going from the ground floor of the state guest house to the first floor along with party in-charge for Bihar Bhupendra Yadav, Secretary Nagendra and General Secretary Saudan Singh and a couple of security personnel. BJP vice-president CP Thakur on Friday said the incident was the result of a conspiracy by the state government.

The state government said the lift had stopped as it was overloaded. The steel doors of the lift have been torn a part to get the leaders out.

Lalu also taunted Shah, and said the former is thinking of his own development and not the nation’s. “It is a gross dereliction of duty and irresponsibility shown by the people responsible for facilities at the state guest house”. The security personnel who was outside the lift immediately called the toll free number provided in the lift. The fact that the building was literally empty when a VIP with Z+ security is putting up smacks of a possible conspiracy. Earlier this month, a woman in Queen Mary Hospital, Lucknow and who was being conveyed in a lift after child birth, died, after the elevator got stuck for almost 90 mins.

Recounting the horror, Pandey said all attempts to open the doors of the lift failed.
