Amtrak Welcomes Pets Aboard
If passed, it would allow passengers to transport domesticated cats or dogs on certain trains in the U.S.

Amtrak has announced that will be developing its Pets Aboard dog training program and residents may at the moment b e competent at plan as well trivial pets on look good with southern united states coastline and Northeast Corridor trains.
Amtrak is letting all passengers bring their pets aboard trains in Virginia starting next week.
The pet and carrier must be a combined weight of 20 pounds.
Pets must be at least eight weeks old and be remain in the carrier beneath the passenger’s seat. They are also required to arrive 30 minutes prior to train departure to check-in at a ticket counter and sign a pet waiver form.
The agency said its policy on service animals, which are allowed on trains with no additional charge, is unchanged.
The pilot program will run through February 15, 2016, at which time it will be reviewed by Amtrak officials to determine if it will continue.
Amtrak is now taking reservations for pet-accompanied trips as early as October. 12 from Boston to Lynchburg, Newport News, and Norfolk, Va., on the Northeast Regional service lines, and from Boston to Brunswick, Maine, on the Downeaster route.

So, it’s encouraging to learn the private sector doesn’t need legislation to make a few proactive changes where pets are concerned.
