Amy Poehler, Tina Fey Reprise Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin on ‘SNL’

In the holiday-themed sketch “A Hillary Christmas”, Kate McKinnon’s impression of the Democratic presidential candidate was visited by the ghost of Hillary’s past – a.k.a., Poehler, Hillary Clinton from 2008.

“People have read it and said, “You haven’t changed at all”. As she puts it, in the last election, “I was cocky too, and then someone named Barack Obama stumble out of a soup kitchen with a basketball and a cigarette and stole my life”. We can easily order an extra Ms. Saturday Night trophy if voters decide that the Sisters stars will go the distance.

But just as McKinnon-as-Clinton settles in for a “night of productive dreaming”, a poof of smoke reveals Clinton from 2008, aka Poehler in a powersuit. “I don’t care about it”, she said as all her friends laughed.

But the celebration is short-lived when who should appear but Sarah Palin! “We have worked together long enough that we-well, I feel like I own half of what Tina has”, Poehler joked, adding, “I don’t know if she does”. Sprinkle in Bruce Springsteen and Lorne Michaels’ favorite Beatle singing “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, and you’re already better than 90 percent of SNL episodes.

Palin and 2008 Hillary tell 2016 Hillary they’ll let her get back to her sleep-plus 2008 Hillary had to send some emails. “I love you, and there’s a special place in hell for you”. During the 2013 Golden Globes, Fey cracked during her hosting duties that Swift should “stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son” and use “some “me time” to learn about herself”. “You’ll thank me later”, 2016 Clinton says.
