Amy Schumer Says No, “Inside Amy Schumer” Isn’t Over

Schumer sent many of her Twitter followers into a tailspin when she responded to users outraged by a recent string of misogynistic posts by one of Inside Amy’s writers, Kurt Metzger. She followed with a second tweet saying Metzger no longer worked for her before dropping the news-making post implying the show’s end. She said she wanted the show’s writer’s room to include a variety of opinions and viewpoints, especially because “Jessi and I have such similar sensibilities”. “Hi @amyschumer if you have any words re: your writer Kurt Metzger & his rape apologist ways many women/comedians would really appreciate it!” “I am just touring”, she tweeted. “He baits people. He’s the problem, no question, but the focus is on him rather than on what the real, main problem is”. “And what’s consensual and what’s not”.

Last night, Amy Schumer spoke out against comedian Kurt Metzger, who has written on all four seasons of her show and who has made headlines recently for his inflammatory comments about rape on Facebook and Twitter. “So nobody’s on my staff, there are no writers”.

She said: “I am so saddened and disappointed in Kurt Metzger”. With friends like these….

“To focus your energy on online trolling, if I did that, I wouldn’t get anything done”, Schumer said.

17, Schumer tweeted a message insinuating that she is done with the popular Comedy Central sketch show.

Comedy Central had renewed “Inside Amy Schumer” for a fifth season in January of this year, but it’s unclear if that work has been completed or put on hold.

According to the “Inside Amy Schumer” star, the show is on hiatus because she is now on a promotional tour for her book, “The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo”.

For now, Schumer, who said she’s been sexually assaulted herself, said it seems the anger at Metzger is focusing on the wrong issue-understanding rape and consent. People, they want his head; they want to burn him at the stake.

The cable network has allowed Schumer to extend her hiatus for at least a year, to tour and meet other obligations.
