Amy Schumer Says Writer’s Rape Comments Do Not Represent Her
Her publisher Simon & Schuster cancelled the event, slated to be held at North Central College, Thursday morning. Comedy writer Metzger had penned a Facebook post regarding a sexual abuse scandal that caught fire in the comedy world, and Schumer, who calls Metzger her friend, had tweeted that she’s “disappointed” in his comments.

Schumer also talked about the mood in the writers room for her show, and how Metzger is a welcome presence. “There aren’t any writers for the show”. “I’ve asked him, ‘Can you just stop?’ Because it comes back to me”.
Inside Amy Schumer was renewed for a fifth season in January this year, although the star is yet to confirm whether or not this will air. She is also shooting a movie with Goldie Hawn that she co-wrote, has penned a script with Jennifer Lawrence and is taking her stand-up comedy tour to the United Kingdom and Europe for the first time from the end of August (16).
This post has been seen 17 times. “I am just touring”, she explained. The show premiered in 2013 and has received a Peabody Award, eight Emmy nominations and two Emmy wins in its four-season run.
Her comments follow an online furore over remarks about rape by one of the show’s writers, Kurt Metzger.
Over the weekend, Metzger went on several social media rants about rape and sexual assault after improv theater Upright Citizens Brigade banned a fellow comedian from their venues following rape accusations posted in private Facebook groups.
As for Metzger’s status with the show (or lack thereof), Schumer didn’t provide any more detail in her tweeted updates.
“I stand by the points I made, but I sincerely apologize for using inflammatory language to make them”, he said.
Schumer was on the show to promote her new biography, “The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo”.

In the Charlie Rose interview, she added: “I was sexually assaulted”.
