Amy speaks up for gun control
A man opened fire last month in a Louisiana movie theater, killing two people and injuring nine before turning the gun on himself. “I was so happy he invited me to be a part of it”, she said of Chuck Schumer, who are cousins.

The actress, who was close to tears while speaking, told reporters that she was “devastated” and “angry” after the Trainwreck shooting.
The new push for gun control in Congress also comes after the Federal Bureau of Investigation reported that a breakdown in the system made it possible for Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof to purchase a gun. Let’s hope she’s right.
The legislation Sen. Schumer has drafted would allegedly award states who thoroughly submit records for background checks, while states that fail to comply would face penalties. He killed two women and injured nine other patrons before taking his own life.
In the evening, she was a guest on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart where she said that she was “legit heartbroken” when she first heard about the shooting. “Unless something is done and done soon, unsafe people will continue to get their hands on guns”, she said. “There is a way to stop them”, she said. Schumer has pushed for tighter gun laws for decades, authoring the 1993 Brady Bill and working to pass the a criminal background check improvement act.
Amy Schumer and her cousin, Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer have been making the rounds on the internet as of late. We need one with accurate information that protects us like a firewall.

Amy Schumer wrote a tweet this past weekend saying, “Don’t worry I’m on it. You’ll see”. “We’re here today to say enough is enough to mass shootings in our schools, our college campuses, our military bases, and even in our movie theaters”. The Schumers collectively called on the Department of Justice for advice and insight into how states can better deal with “involuntary mental health commitments”.
