An All-Female Ocean’s Eleven Starring Sandra Bullock Is in the Works
Sandra Bullock looks set to star in an all-female remake of heist movie Ocean’s Eleven.

ThePlaylist broke news of the female Oceans Eleven movie. That film is a sordid melodrama surrounding a love triangle between a man, his fiancée and his best friend.
He formed Smokehouse Pictures nine years ago so he could continue to do one movie for Hollywood and one for himself. They’ve got a generally good track record, and aren’t given to spreading baseless rumors, so we consider them to be pretty trustworthy. George Clooney, star of the 2001 film and its two sequels, is producing, alongside their director, Steven Soderbergh.
Gary Ross, the director of the first Hunger Games film, is expected to lead the project.
“Initially, it was written with George Clooney in mind”, she told Entertainment Weekly in August.
Ocean’s Eleven was based around criminal Danny Ocean putting together an expert group in order to successfully rob a Las Vegas casino. His The Free State of Jones, starring Matthew McConaughey, was recently given a May 13, 2016 release date, so its possible we could see more movement on this soon.

Bullock had previously scoffed at turning her Melissa McCarthy buddy comedy hit The Heat into a franchise after her bad experiences on Speed 2: Cruise Control and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous. According to the leaked Sony emails from a year ago, then-chief of the studio Amy Pascal urged her all-female “Ghostbusters” project to pick up the pace when she caught wind of the new “Ocean’s” and other gender-swapping projects.
